The Religious Freedom Center is currently working with leaders from the American Academy of Religion to launch the Public Scholars Project, designed to equip scholars of religion to more effectively communicate in the public square, and thus foster broader religious literacy.

Dr. Haynes is also the founding board member Character Education Partnership, and has served on the steering committee of the Campaign for the Civic Mission of Schools, in addition to his previous work on the Advisory Commission on Public Education of the American Bar Association.
