Sharon Grant, Ph.D. is assistant professor of the History of Christianity at Hood Theological Seminary. Prior to joining the faculty in 2016, Dr. Grant served as part-time faculty in the Department of Religious Studies at The University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas. She serves as instructor for the Doctor of Ministry Program and previously taught at Colgate Rochester Crozer Seminary in Rochester, N.Y. Her published work includes book reviews and contributions to Wesley and Methodist Studies, Methodist History and AME Review. She contributed to “Equipping Global Ministry: Wesleyan Studies Project,” a digitally recorded lecture series, recently contributed a chapter for the “T&T Clark Companion to African American Theology” and is working on the book, “Rebaptism Calmly Considered: Christian Initiation and Resistance in the Early AME Church of Jamaica.”
