Education Manager

Status: 27 hours per week

The education manager will enable the Religious Freedom Center of the Freedom Forum Institute to advance the GA3Rs project throughout the state of Georgia during the term of grant-supported work.

The education manager will work in consultation with the GA3Rs project manager in Georgia and, as needed, with the Washington DC based project director.

The position is grant-funded and part-time, with employee benefits, for the term of grant funding only. Existing grant funding is expected to support the position for approximately 18 months.

Job responsibilities:

  • Support existing work in interested school districts and recruit new school districts.
  • Support the development of relationships with all Regional Education Services Agency operations in GA as identification of possible delivery sites for workshops and trainings.
  • Support the planning and implementation of the Summer Teacher Institutes for GA teachers in consultation with GA3Rs project manager.
  • Support the development and piloting of classroom materials, professional development online modules, and in-person workshops.
  • Provide administrative support for the GA3Rs project.
  • Provide information to stakeholders as well as support local workshops, events, and meetings.

Experience

  • 5 + years working in public schools, teaching social sciences or English preferred
  • Demonstrated success in working with department heads and school administration
  • Demonstrated success in working in schools that have a diverse student body
  • Effective communicator and trainer
  • Basic knowledge about the First Amendment
  • Basic knowledge about the academic study of religion
  • Demonstrated excellent writing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully build relationships and networks over time
  • Interest in and ability to travel across the state for training and relationship development
  • Ability to map lesson plans and text sets to GA standards, C3, and Common Core standards
