The Religious Freedom Center of the Freedom Forum Institute convenes diverse voices from all sectors of society to engage in civil dialogue and, where possible, find common ground on public policies that serve the common good. Currently, the center is sponsoring the following programs.
Faith, Freedom, SexualityIn 2014-2015, the Pulitzer Center, the Religious Freedom Center and the Arcus Foundation presented four public programs featuring award-winning journalists who discuss their reporting on LGBT issues internationally, focusing on the influence of religion on public attitudes toward LGBT people. |
50th Anniversary Celebration of the Voting Rights ActIn May 2015, Steven V. Roberts, Former Congressman Barney Frank, Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Northon, and Julian Bond led a celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act, which included a live photo exhibition of some of the era’s iconic photographs and live music from the Selma march era. |

Religious Freedom & Foreign PolicyIn collaboration with the British Council, the Religion Newswriters Foundation, the Center on Religion and the Professions at Missouri School of Journalism, Lancaster University (UK), the Religious Freedom Center co-sponsored an international conference in April 2015 titled, “Bridging Voices: Religious Freedom in US and UK Foreign Policy.” This was the second of two dialogue sessions; the first was held in London in February 2015. |
